Freedom Games are a meeting of individuals who are curious about the world and open to new ideas.
Freedom Games are a forum for those who are curious about the world and open to new ideas. It hosts renowned experts and intellectuals to discuss the key challenges Western societies face in the 21st century.
Freedom Games are a unique interdisciplinary event of this kind held in Poland, its main objective is to offer a creative space for exchanging ideas between representatives of culture, business and public life.
Since 2019, the European Liberal Forum has been the co-organizer of the event. Together with the Fundacja Liberté! Foundation, each year, the ‘ELF HUB’ – an exclusive part of the event hosting a series of sessions devoted to key European issues, – gathers in Lodz, Poland, and online to reach a wide audience who hold liberty as one of the most important values in their lives.
The forum employs an unorthodox format based on utilising various conference formats – from lectures to panel discussions, with participation of some world-renowned representatives of top academia from the likes of Harvard and MIT, as well as politicians and businessmen.
Despite the fact that every year we meet in Lodz, the Foundation has achieved truly global reach. We have hosted pioneers and influential personalities from European states to India and the United States. The top-tier list of speakers has featured very notable and diverse names including, former Prime Minister of the European Council, Donald Tusk, President of Freedom House, Michael Abramowitz and historian Yuval Noah Harari, to name a few.
In the year 2021, a hybrid format was introduced, combining ‘free-for-all’ online streams with in-person meetings at the venue. Merging a traditional conference style with an open television format has enabled us to reach wider audiences and further reinforce the impact of the forum. At the same time, we enable participants to meet and network, which has always served as an incentive for attendees. As a result, over 1,700 individuals joined us in person, while online streams hit 1,084,477 viewers across all platforms within three weeks.
Freedom Games have always been an interdisciplinary event – it aims to inspire and tackle the most pressing issues and challenges of the socio-economic and cultural life in Poland and the world. This year, more importantly than ever, we need to reinforce our democracy in Europe. Save the date – 14th October 2022 – and be part of Freedom Games to help shape the vision of tomorrow.
