European Cities Network on Migration: Getting Skills Synchronised

About the event

The event aims at discussing to define the needs of labor markets and the demands/needs of migrants in European cities and propose skills development programs for the refugees/migrants based on that. So that, there will be a base for the policy recommendation for vocational training and other training programs for refugees/migrants that will help them contribute to the societies they now live in. 

Discussions and recommendations will target the following questions:

• What are the existing projects/policies/ programs/trainings serving the employment of the migrants? 
• What is going well, what is not going well about existing projects/policies?  
• What are the needs of labour markets in short and long term?  
• What are the demands and skill needs of the migrants? 
• Which training policies/ projects are missing in the market and how we can work on it? 
• How we can guarantee the qualification equivalence?  
• How we can support enrol of migrants to the vocational high schools? 
• What is the role of university students in the system? 
• How to reach our stakeholders to contribute to the synchronization of the skills of migrants and the needs of European markets?
