About the event

In the midst of rapid developments of technology, social media, social networks and Al have been used as a tool for affecting voters in the election campaigns. Thanks to globalization we are

able to communicate and deliver messages quickly and efficiently from one part of the

world to another and therefore, influence more people. We have and need social media to keep track of current events in any country we want, despite where we live.

Although this can be beneficial in the direction of sharing information for the people to be well informed, it can also be used in a negative way, for manipulating voters, sharing disinformation and unfortunately, winning political points.

This problem is affecting the young population the most, especially because they are the target group of social media campaigns, since they use technology and social media the most, which will just translate into the future generations as well, if not even in a more profuse manner.

The Conference and the publication it’s promoting aims to analyze how much AI and social media are used and should be used in political processes and politics in general – is it ethical and is it transparent enough for them to be used in common practice?
