About the event

The European security environment has radically changed over the last decade, especially due to Russian policy of aggression, but also tense relations between the EU and US and its role in the future of transatlantic relations. These dynamics have exposed both the strengths and limitations of the current European security architecture, particularly the need for closer political alignment and practical complementarity between the EU and NATO. The primary objective of this project is to develop concrete, actionable recommendations on how to strengthen European deterrence and defence through a more effective EU–NATO relationship. By bringing together senior policymakers, practitioners, and experts, the project combines strategic reflection with operational insights. It seeks to contribute to a credible, sustainable security framework that reinforces transatlantic cohesion while enabling Europe to assume greater responsibility for its own defence.
