In 2025 the European Liberal Forum is presenting the fifth edition of the Liberal Awards, which celebrates the champions of liberal values and ideas and ensures their recognition and impact on the European level.
In 2025 the European Liberal Forum is presenting the fifth edition of the Liberal Awards, which celebrates the champions of liberal values and ideas and ensures their recognition and impact on the European level. Every year, ELF member organisations, political parties and foundations are invited to nominate candidates in different categories. Individuals from national and European politics will be awarded by a Jury composed of representatives of ELF Board Members, ALDE Party President/Bureau Members, LYMEC President/Board Members and Secretary Generals.
In 2025, liberal organisations were invited to nominate candidates in two different categories:
‘Liberal of the Year’ and ‘Rising Star’.
Rising Star
This category recognizes emerging leaders who have recently stepped onto the liberal scene and are already showing great promise. These individuals demonstrate outstanding energy, fresh thinking, and powerful commitment to liberal ideals. Whether it’s a young politician, an activist, a policy innovator or a fresh voice in the media, we want to celebrate those who are bringing new momentum to the liberal movement.
This award honors an individual who has made a significant, courageous, or disruptive contribution to liberal politics in Europe over the past year. These are the changemakers those who are not afraid to speak up, take action, or rethink the way liberal values are expressed. Whether through daring policy initiatives, leadership in times of crisis, or transformative campaigns, the Liberal of the Year exemplifies courage, innovation, and results.
