Through the past decades, the Republic of North Macedonia was faced with difficult situations, starting with the dissolution from ex-Yugoslavia, overcoming the situation described in the 2016 EU progress report as ‘captured state’ and making efforts to achieve the criteria for becoming a Member State of the European Union.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it quite clear and undisputable that certain measures of safety regulations would have to be put in place by legislators in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
