IPPS resigns as member organisation of ELF

As of July 10, 2024, the Institute for Politics and Society (IPPS), the political foundation of the Czech ANO Party resigned as a Member Organisation of the European Liberal Forum. Along with the decision of IPPS, Executive Director Šárka Shoup stepped down as Board Member of ELF. 

The ELF Board of Directors acknowledges the decision in light of the departure of ANO from the ALDE Party and the Renew Europe Group, and its regretful decision to join “Patriots for Europe” alongside Hungary’s Fidesz and other European far-right parties. The ELF Board of Directors informed ELF Member Organisations about the decision and started the disaffiliation process. 

For the European Liberal Forum, it is of the uttermost importance to safeguard the integrity and consistency of its affiliations, ensuring that all member organisations align with the principles and objectives of the liberal political family. We remain committed to fostering a strong and united liberal voice across Europe and will continue to support initiatives that align with our core values and mission.
