The seminar will build on insights from the book ‘Putin’s Europe’, which explores Putin’s strategies and discusses possible actions ahead.
How are citizens in the Baltic Sea Region affected by Vladimir Putin in their everyday lives? Is the Russian regime waging a hybrid war against Europe? And which counterstrategies could be formulated to confront Putin’s agenda?
Shortly after the European elections, the European Liberal Forum, the Swedish green and liberal think tank Fores, and the Dutch Mr. Hans van Mierlo Foundation for social-liberal thought, D66 International, will organize a conversation about the future of European security and democracy. Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine is posing a real threat to freedom, security, and democracy, not only in Ukraine but in the whole of Europe. It has also become increasingly clear that Putin is concurrently waging a hybrid war against Europe.
The recently published anthology Putin’s Europe from European Liberal Forum and Project: Polska explores how Vladimir Putin’s actions, ideologies, and rhetoric impact the lives of everyday Europeans. The seminar will build on insights from the book to unfold Putin’s strategies and discuss possible actions ahead. It will take place on Gotland, the greatest island in the Baltic Sea.
