The emergency measures adopted by governments to contain the spread of the virus have inexorably posed restrictions on the citizens’ basic civil liberties, including on the fundamental right to transparency and information in public administration.
This publication is a comparative study of the different policies adopted by the governments of several Member States: Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, the Netherlands, and Hungary. Authors analyse whether governments of said countries have ensured the citizen’s rights to access government information, or rather if transparency was put “at stake”.
